This study investigates the relationship between Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) and the time spent using Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and the general Internet. Undergraduate students (n = 914) completed the FoMO scale (Przybylski, et al., 2013) and reported how often they use Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and the Internet each day. Results suggested that Snapchat use is a predictor of FoMO. Implications for how the nature of Snapchat differs from other social media platforms is discussed further.
