In this 75 minutes session, students from Models of Inclusive Education will explore representations of disability, race, gender, sexuality, and class in 6 young adult novels. Using a disability studies lens, students will challenge narratives of "normalcy" and ableism as they work to frame a more expanded definition of inclusion. Because this is a class on access and inclusion, audience members should be prepared to engage with the ideas presented. (There will be traditional parts of this presentation, but the class will also work to move beyond a single way to access the information.)
