Stefan Penthor is a chemical engineer and head of the research group Zero Emission Technologies at the Institute of Chemical Engineering at Vienna University of Technology. The group is working on reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in power and industry through innovative energy technologies and process optimization. The main part of his current research is on Chemical Looping combustion for gaseous and solid fuels where he focuses on optimization of reactor designs consisting of interconnected fluidized beds.
