David Hopkinson is the Technical Portfolio Lead for in-house carbon capture research at the U.S. Department of Energy, National Energy Technology Laboratory (DOE/NETL) in Morgantown, WV. Dr. Hopkinson’s team is focused on developing innovative materials for light gas separations, including polymeric membranes, liquid solvents, and solid sorbents. Dr. Hopkinson completed his B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech in 2002 and 2003. He earned his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech in 2007, specializing in advanced material properties characterization.
