Karen Finney

University of Sheffield

Karen N Finney (BSc, MSc (Eng.), PhD, CEng, MEI) is a researcher at Energy 2050, University of Sheffield, conducting experimental and theoretical investigations into innovative aspects of evolving thermal processes for sustainable, low-carbon energy. This includes advanced gas turbine cycles, combustion of fossil/biomass/waste fuels, emissions monitoring and carbon capture; she has published widely in these areas. She has worked on numerous large-scale inter-disciplinary research projects with industry-relevant partners and is part of teams that have received funding from EPSRC, EU H2020, BF2RA and UKCCSRC. She has also completed two research sabbaticals, seconded to Alstom Power Ltd. and GE Power.
