Sevim Gökçe Akıntürk Erkaya has worked at Işık University, English Preparatory Program for six years. First three years she served as a level coordinator and the last three as a testing officer. She received a B.S. degree in Teaching English at İstanbul University Faculty of Education and a CELTA from Cambridge University. Gökçe’s M.A is in progress in Educational Economy and Planning at Yeditepe University. The topic of her thesis is “Student Retention in higher education, particularly in the context of English Medium Instruction (EMI)”.

Donald Staub

Isik University

Donald Staub is an Assistant Professor and the Coordinator of the Quality Assurance Unit in the School of Foreign Languages at Işık University (Şile/Istanbul). His doctorate is in Educational Leadership, with a higher education emphasis. Prior to moving to Turkey in 2011, Donald spent five years as the director of student retention at a U.S. college. For the past two years, he has led the development and implementation of the First Year Experience and Early Alert initiatives at in the SFL at Işık. He has worked on numerous accreditation and quality assurance projects in the U.S. and in Turkey, and currently serves as a reviewer for the Commission on English Language Accreditation (CEA).
