This paper explores the role of education in contributing to environmental resilience – in particular its role in developing countries. It argues that education can play a stronger role in addressing environmental resilience – however, securing this contribution will have to be achieved in an era where educational delivery will be increasingly impacted by climate/environment change. The paper explores this theme through the case study of India – establishing why education is important, impediments that reduce educational impact and an innovative programme of environmental education that offers insight on ways forward.
