The workshop focuses on good practices and sustainable business opportunities for circularity in the built environment. Examples are given from the ongoing European project Buildings as Material Banks (www.bamb2020.eu) and approaches on circular procurement in the built environment. Selected topics like design for recycling and development of new products from recycled construction materials are discussed. The intention is to link the whole business ecosystem to support circularity in the built environment.
This Workshop is part of series of events aiming to compile a global report on circular economy in built environment. We are happy to share the results from a Circularity in the Built Environment Networking Event held in World Urban Forum in Kuala Lumpur in February 2018 and the results of the Circular Economy Working Group in the UN 10YFP Sustainable Buildings and Construction Programme that collects good examples also from the Global South.
