Ms. Elizabeth Baumgartner has 8 years of wildlife consulting experience in the wind energy industry across the U.S. She has been employed with Western EcoSystems Technology, Inc. (WEST) since 2008. Ms. Baumgartner received her B.S. in Wildlife Biology in 2007 and Project Management Certificate in 2014, both from Colorado State University. While at WEST, Elizabeth has been an Environmental Writer and a Research Biologist/Project Manager. In her current role as a Research Biologist/Project Manager, Ms. Baumgartner has designed and managed research efforts across 22 wind energy projects. As an Environmental Writer, Elizabeth interpreted data collected from a wide variety of ecosystems, and has written more than 100 technical reports. Ms. Baumgartner prepared numerous adaptive management and regulatory compliance documents, including Environmental Assessments, Bird and Bat Conservation Strategies, and Eagle Conservation Plans. Ms. Baumgartner was a co-author on WEST’s technical reviews of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Wind Energy Guidelines and Eagle Conservation Plan Guidance. Throughout her time with WEST, Elizabeth has conducted field surveys, supervised and managed large field crews, managed large-scale projects, developed deliverable documents that report and interpret results of field research, and developed adaptive management strategies to identify and mitigate potential risk associated with development and operations of wind projects.
