Sc. degree in Solid State Physics and Material Science,  The Israel Institute of Technology (Technion), Haifa, Israel, 1976c) Ph.D. degree, University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies (UTIAS), Toronto, Canada, 1984Much of Prof. Kleiman’s work in the past years has concentrated on: a) Development, design and manufacturing of equipment for residual stress management in welds and materials;b) Development and characterization of protective materials, coatings and surface modification processes for space, aerospace and automotive applications;c)  Development, design and manufacturing of methods and high-tech equipment  for space exploration;Research content: Prof. Kleiman published over 150 papers and chapters in books on different subjects of his research. He is a co-author of a number of USA, Canadian, Japanese and European patents. He is the editor of the Proceedings series on “Protection of Materials from the Space Environment” published by Kluwer, Springer and AIP Publishing Houses that are based on the biannual series of International conferences that he started in 1991.
