Human Factors and Ergonomic (HFE) principles have been slow to be integrated into healthcare. This is part due to a lack of understanding of concepts. Previous work by the authors attempted to address this by creating a model for healthcare HFE, designed for staff, by staff. A multiprofessional cohort of staff were educated in model use and applied it to their own work. The model is easy to use for healthcare staff to identify factors in their own work systems.
