Cyclic imides 1 (fig.1) represent an important class of bioactive molecules that show a wide range of pharmacological activities [1,3] such as anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antidepressive, antiviral, antitumor.
On the other hand sulfonamide 2 (fig.1), is considered as a pharmacophore, which is present in a number of biologically active molecules [4,5]. Because of their common properties it was decided to prepare compound 3 having structural features of both 1 and 2 with a convenient, clean and environmentally friendly procedure by using a catalytic amount of heteropolyacids including H6P2W18O62, H6P2W12Mo6O62, H3PW12O40.
