Objectives: To discuss about the safe delivery services offered by Urban Primary Health Care Services delivery Project.
Materials & Methods: Report of safe delivery performance of one year from January to December 2014. Methodology used was the review of quarterly performance report of Urban Primary Health Care Services delivery Project.
Results: Total 57244 Expected Date of Delivery mothers were listed in Urban Primary Health Care Services delivery network. 22043 had normal vaginal delivery and 10970 had Caesarean Section under Urban Primary Health Care clinics. 6753 Normal Delivery and 7535 Caesarean Section were in other institutions and private clinics. 6450 had home delivery but 3954 cases were untraced.
38.50% of total delivery clients had Normal delivery and 19.16% had Caesarean Section in Urban Primary Health Care clinics. 11.79% Normal Delivery and 13.16% had Caesarean Section in other private clinics and Non Government Organizations. 11.26% had home delivery but 6.90% delivery patients were untraced.
Conclusions: Urban slum people are more floating and strategy needs to be designed to attract those people to receive skilled care during delivery. More Behavioral Change Communication activities should be implemented to increase more awareness about the importance of Antenatal Care visits and delivery by skilled attendant. Addressing 1st delay is also a challenge in the urban slums.
