5G mm-wave wireless transceivers

Dr Domenico Zito

Marconi Lab, Tyndall National Institute

Domenico Zito received the Laurea (degree) in 2000 and PhD degree in 2004 from the University of Pisa, Italy, where he was after an assistant professor of electronics. Since 2009 he is with University College Cork and Tyndall National Institute, Cork, Ireland, where he established the RF SoC group and the Marconi Lab, recognised as a centre of excellence in high-frequency low-noise measurements and awarded as Start-up Laboratory of the Year at the Irish Laboratory Awards 2014. His primary research interests are the design of radio-frequency system-on-chip transceivers for microwave and millimetre-waves, both for data communications and contactless sensing. He has published about 150 papers in international journals and conference proceedings. He had the responsibility of 80+ ICs in industry and academia and established pioneering contributions for the integration of radio-frequency transceivers and contactless sensors such as radars and radiometers. In 2005 he received the Mario Boella (VP URSI) Prize for the Innovation in Wireless Technology. He is a member of the Technical Programme Committee (TPC) of the European Solid-State Circuits Conference (ESSCIRC) and Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers.
