In this paper, a MEMS reconfigurable chiral metamaterial is reported. Chiral material exhibit a remarkable optical characteristics called optical activity, and polarity of the optical activity is completely reversed between the handedness of the chirality. We employed this characteristics for the MEMS metamaterial to develop polarization modulation device for the terahertz electromagnetic wave. We realized a handedness switchable metamaterial by actuation of MEMS structures which presented a chiral switchable performance with large optical activity.
