Additional losses occurred when introducing a tapered structure to a square ring semiconductor resonator for unidirectional lasing were investigated from the spectral change of lasing. When the taper was added, the center wavelength of lasing was blue shifted because the total cavity loss was increased. Statistical estimation of the additional loss was attempted.
