Chad Davis

netNebraska

Chad Davis is the Assistant General Manager - Emerging Media at netNebraska. In this role, he advocates for a digital perspective on strategic issues confronting the company, as well as an emerging media approach to ideating and creating content. Under his direction, the Emerging Media team has: created NET's first 360 video content, launched NebraskaVirtualCapitol.org, PaleoSleuths.org and NebraskaStories.org, guided the launch of NET's first podcast original (PlainStoryPodcast.org), facilitated the launch of Midwest Food Stories on PBSFood, launched NET's first AppleTV and CarPlay extensions, launched NET's first Android Auto and Chromecast extensions, and created NET's first Alexa skills. Chad has served as senior staff at both institutional and start-up organizations, and the through-lines in his 20-year career are 'content' and 'technology.' Working off and on with a variety of public media companies over more than 15 years, Chad has also worked in the field of online social networking as well as in web/app design and development. He has developed and deployed a variety content and digital strategies for public media companies, the environmental social network Planet Forward, the independent film Red Clay, the technology forecasting website TechCast Global and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).Outside of work, Chad enjoys reading about music, history, philosophy, and (especially) technology. He was NET Nebraska's first Part 107-licensed drone pilot and he's also a huge fan of British post-punk music.

Bohdan Zachary

Milwaukee PBS

Bohdan Zachary is a broadcast and content executive with extensive commercial, cable and public media credits. In November 2015 he was named General Manager of Milwaukee PBS, which is comprised of WMVS and WMVT Bohdan's broadcast credits includes CBS Reports, Nickelodeon and WNBC News/Live at Five in NYC. Upon arriving in Hollywood, he was hired by Cher to run her film production company. He shifted to San Jose during the first digital startup wave, working for InterActive Network, a digital company.  For nearly two decades served as a senior executive at KCET.   In an earlier chapter in his life, he managed the greatest CBGB's-era pop group that never made it (Milk n Cookies).

Chris Ostertag

KLRU-TV Austin PBS

Chris likes plugging things in and making them work. He formerly did this at IGN.com as Manager of Video TechOps for the largest video games website in the world. There he designed and built two production facilities, ran shows from Los Angeles to Tokyo, and supported daily operations and special events that reached over 57M unique viewers worldwide. Before that he was with Northwestern University's Advanced Media Production Studio, working on documentaries and digital preservation as far away as Timbuktu. At KLRU, Chris has led a multi-year initiative to revitalize technical operations. From automation/playout to field acquisition to post-production, he has focused on increasing efficiency and capacity with the proper application of things you plug in. He also oversees the ongoing digitization and archival of over 40 years of Austin City Limits, and co-produced the VR series "Austin City Limits Backstage."

Charlotte Cushing

South Florida PBS

As the Multimedia Producer with South Florida PBS, Charlotte Cushing is responsible for creating engaging, digital content for all platforms. In her two years with the station, she has produced a Suncoast Emmy award winning web series, been chosen to participate in the PBS Digital Immersion Project and led her station’s efforts to make the leap into the immersive technologies of 360, AR and VR. She studied Visual Journalism at the University of Miami.

Abstract
