Tim Olson

KQED

Tim oversees the digital media group for KQED. The digital media group includes all Web, mobile and interactive applications. He is responsible for all company Web properties including KQED.org, one of the most trafficked public media station sites in the nation. Tim works closely with Matter, a Silicon Valley accelerator co-founded by KQED and the John S. and James L Knight Foundation. Tim is former Chair of the Board of the Integrated Media Association, an industry group whose mission is to harness the power of the Internet and other new media platforms for the benefit of public broadcasters. Tim also consults to a number of projects and organizations in and outside public broadcasting including the CPB, PBS and NPR. Tim has been a pioneer in public media’s uses of various Internet technologies including locative media, publishing with blog tools, audio and video podcasting and online original content. Prior to joining KQED, Tim was Interactive Director at KCTS Seattle. Prior to that, he oversaw all online operations at WTTW Chicago.

Scott Nourse

PBS Digital

Scott Nourse brings nearly two decades of digital design and product development experience to his role heading up Product for PBS Digital, where he oversees operations for all consumer-facing video platforms from Web, to mobile, to set-top boxes. Prior to joining PBS in 2014, Nourse served as SVP of Production at Sony Pictures Interactive, where he was responsible for strategic planning and day-to-day digital production supporting the studio's online and mobile marketing efforts. Nourse has also served as a Partner with the Austin, Texas-based digital agency, Deeply Superficial Productions, managing creative services for clients such as Visa, Turner Network Television, American Movie Classics, The Starbright Foundation and the USPS. Nourse began his career in digital as executive producer at American Cybercast, a Los Angeles-based subsidiary of Grey Advertising, where he produced the ground-breaking webisodics “The Spot" and “Project EON-4."

Robert Kempf

WGBH

Bob Kempf leads WGBH’s digital efforts and is responsible for defining and developing the organization’s digital service and operations. His role focuses on strengthening and expanding existing content, deepening audience engagement, and developing membership and donation opportunities. He also leads future-focused digital business development in collaboration with content units throughout WGBH to identify, plan, and execute strategies leveraging emerging digital media platforms as the consumer media environment evolves. Kempf oversees digital product development in support of productions and journalism—including American Experience, Antiques Roadshow, Frontline, Masterpiece, Nova, Curious George, Arthur, and WGBH News—that have made WGBH the leading producer for PBS on TV, the Web, and mobile, as well as a major source of public radio content. Kempf joined WGBH in 2015 from NPR, where for five years he served as Vice President and General Manager of Digital Services. For four years prior to that he was Vice President for Product and Technology at The Boston Globe. Earlier in his career Kempf served as Vice President, Interactive, at Gatehouse Media and as Director of Digital Product Development for Dow Jones Local Media Group. A graduate of Boston College with a degree in political science and philosophy, Kempf was a 2010 fellow in the Punch Sulzberger News Media Executive Leadership program at Columbia University.
