Marc Hand co-founded Public Media Company in 2001 and serves on its board. As CEO, Marc is focused on creating strategic public media alliances and partnerships to strengthen public television and radio.Under his leadership, Public Media Company developed VuHaus and Channel X, two innovative multimedia services focused on music and journalism, respectively. He has led Public Media Company’s work to support public television stations in planning for the upcoming FCC spectrum auction, as well as the upcoming ATSC 3.0 digital television technology standard rollout. Marc has also co-authored several articles analyzing opportunities for public television stations in the spectrum auction and in deploying ATSC 3.0.In 2001, Marc was a member of a group that drove the historic tax-exempt investment grade bond product for public radio and television financings and has worked with financial institutions nationally to develop public media investments.Marc’s media experience of more than 30 years includes Managing Director of PMC Group; Managing Partner and co-owner of a group of commercial stations in Colorado; and an associate with two national media brokerage firms representing commercial media owners in sales, acquisitions, mergers and financial restructurings. Marc spent five years at the Station Resource Group (SRG) helping public radio stations expand services via acquisitions, collaborations and partnerships, leading to the development of Public Media Company. Locally and nationally, Marc has led public media planning in a rapidly changing media and technology environment.
