Matthew Goldman is SeniorVice President of Technology, TV & Media, at Ericsson, where he is focusedon video processing and media delivery solutions. He has been actively involvedin the development of digital television systems since 1992. He was a prominentparticipant in the Moving Picture Experts Group where he helped create theMPEG-2 Systems and DSM-CC standards, and he continues to be influential inother industry organizations including the Society of Motion Picture andTelevision Engineers (SMPTE), the Alliance of IP Media Solutions (AIMS), theUltra HD Forum, the Digital Video Broadcasting project, the Advanced TelevisionSystems Committee, and the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers. Fourof his projects have been later recognized by Technology & Engineering Emmy®Awards. Mr. Goldman received bachelor (high honors) and master of sciencesdegrees in electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Heholds six patents related to digital video transport. A SMPTE Fellow, he isalso a senior member of the IEEE and an inductee of the Academy of Digital Television Pioneers. Mr. Goldman is currently serving as the President of SMPTE.

John Mailhot

Imagine Communications

John Mailhot has been working in the field of digital High-Definition Television systems since its North American inception in 1990, first as part of the AT&T-Zenith Team, then as technical lead for the Grand Alliance encoder, and later as engineering manager and general manager of Lucent Digital Video, Aastra Digital Video, and then at Harris Broadcast. Today John is responsible for infrastructure product architecture at Imagine Communications. He has two degrees from MIT.
