This presentation describes work being led by the ERA Human Factors Network to gain the inclusion of human factors approaches in the revisions of the CSM for Conformity Assessment and CSM on Supervision. These documents set down the required content of the SMS documents submitted by railway undertakings to obtain a safety certificate or authorization and the testing of the adequacy of that SMS by the national safety authority, ORR. The presentation will describe the analysis and work undertaken to form the textual recommended wording that has been submitted to ERA.
