Dr Miriam Galvin is a Research Fellow in the Academic Unit of Neurology, School of Clinical Medicine TCD. She works on health services research projects tracking patient and caregiver journeys through illness, interaction with the health services and the conceptualisation and assessment of quality of life and caregiving experiences. With extensive professional experience in health and social research, she has worked on a number of major research projects incorporating mixed methods exploring issues such as patient and carer experiences of illness, health service provision and delivery, and practice experiences of health care professionals. She has a multi-disciplinary academic background in human geography, population health, and psychosocial studies, her interests are research methodologies, health services research, medical anthropology, health humanities and discourse.
