This paper conducts historical research and documentary analysis to present how mass media illustrated and accelerated early-stage social innovation development in China. It depicts how social media influent media coverage and communication form of the notion of social enterprise. It also draws attention to the way social enterprise utilizing social media for business success. A series of legislation and improvement has occurred with profound meaning for the development of social innovation, which indicates media’s agenda-setting function in China.
