The purpose of this research was to examine teachers' perspectives on culturally relevant physical education in elementary schools. We observed and interviewed one physical education and four classroom teachers in one urban and one sub-urban schools. Teaching experience are from 2 to 22 years. The interview was focused on knowing community dynamics and knowing how community dynamics influence educational processes. Data were analyzed using inductive analysis. Three major themes emerged from the data, specified care, social hierarchies among students, and relevant curricular content. Enacting the cycle of cultural relevance for achieving in respectful learning environments in which students were highly engaged and supported.
