Nicoletta Depalo

Istituto per i Processi Chimico-Fisici-CNR SS Bari

She is Research Scientist at the Institute for Chemical and Physical Processes (IPCF) of CNR Bari, with experience in the field of nanotechnology. Her research activities are mainly focused on the development of targeted drug delivery nanovectors or hybrid nanostructured bioconjugates, useful for imaging and/or treatment of specific diseases. She has expertise in synthesis, characterization and surface functionalization of colloidal nanoparticles (magnetic, plasmonic, silica based, carbon based, II-VI semiconductor and heterostructure materials), nanoparticle bioconjugation, protein and lipid purification, targeting strategies and methodologies suitable for the study of nano-bio interactions.

Abstract

Advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a clinical challenge with limited treatment options. The orally active multikinase inhibitor sorafenib is the only anticancer agent showing a survival benefit in these patients. As... [ view full abstract ]
