Dr Helen Young is a Senior Lecturer in Education at London South Bank University (LSBU). She completed her PhD, 'Ambiguous Citizenship: Democratic practices and school governing bodies', at the Institute of Education (UCL) in 2014. Today's paper was one of those published from the PhD. She is currently exploring similar issues of democracy and citizenship in relation to 'student voice' in higher education.
