"Perfect Fruit in Another Climate": Margaret Fuller on Acclimatization, Cosmopolitanism and Exile

University of Torino

Sonia Di Loreto teaches American Literature at the University of Torino, where she focuses on courses on nineteenth-century American literature, colonial American literature, and transatlantic literary relations. She holds a PhD from Rutgers University, where she was also a Fulbright scholar. She has published essays on colonial literature, African American literature, and nineteenth-century print culture. Her current research focuses on Margaret Fuller’s transnational network, and aims at reconstructing the network of communication that Margaret Fuller established and maintained in Italy and Europe. She is project manager of a Northeastern University based DH project, the "Margaret Fuller Transnational Archive".
