Elizabeth Fenton is Associate Professor of English at the University of Vermont. She is the author of Religious Liberties: Anti-Catholicism and Liberal Democracy in Nineteenth-Century U.S. Literature and Culture (2011), as well as articles on American Christianity, politics, and literature in journals such as J19, Early American Literature, and ESQ. She is currently co-editing a collection of essays on The Book of Mormon and completing a book about the Hebraic Indian theory in early America.
