Gretchen Woertendyke

Gretchen Woertendyke is an Associate Professor of English at the University of South Carolina. Her first book, Hemispheric Regionalism: Romance and the Geography of Genre, was published by Oxford University Press in 2016. She has written on secret histories, slave narratives, and Charles Brockden Brown, among other topics. Her current book is currently titled “A History of Secrecy in the United States.”
