Crystal S. Donkor is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at SUNY New Paltz. She received her doctorate from the W. E. B. Du Bois Department of Afro-American Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and while earning her degree she also taught in the Humanities Program at Hampshire College.  Her scholarly interests include nineteenth- and early twentieth-century African American women’s literature, post-Emancipation African American fiction, African American print production and print cultures, queer theory, and Black feminist theory.
