Jazmín Delgado Flores is a Ph.D. Candidate in the English Department at the University of Pennsylvania. Their dissertation project examines an array of U.S. literary and cultural texts published in the 1850s that situate Central America as a discursive, geographic, and political linchpin in ideological mappings of the Western Hemisphere.
