Integrating Technology: Faculty Expectations

Krista is a Senior Lecturer and a past Chairperson in the School of Nursing at Thompson Rivers University. As a 2013 Thompson Rivers University Teaching Excellence Award recipient, 2015 ARNBC Excellence in Nursing Education Award recipient, 2016 TRU Chair Leadership Award recipient, Krista is noted for her innovative teaching in both the classroom and clinical settings. Creative in her teaching strategies, Krista continually searches for new methods to engage her students by using technology; including flipping clinical practice orientation and integrating iPads into clinical practice.
Tara Lyster
Thompson Rivers University
Tara is a Lecturer in the School of Nursing Thompson Rivers University. With over 20 years nursing experience Tara brings her experience and passion to her teaching. Tara looks for creative ways to engage students in both classroom and the clinical setting. Developing an interest in technology in Health Care while working at HealthlinkBC; Tara continually explores ways to incorporate technology in her teaching and increase students understanding of the use of technology in nursing.
Brian Mackay
Thompson Rivers University
Brian has over 25 years of IT leadership experience in both the public and private sectors. For the last twelve years he has been the Associate Vice-President IT Services and Chief Information Officer of Thompson Rivers University (TRU). Prior to this Brian was the CIO of the Open Learning Agency, Burnaby BC. Brian also led IT for Vancouver-based oil transportation giant Teekay Shipping. Brian is also the chair of BCNET, BC Higher Education’s shared IT services society.
