The Internet of Things is not coming; it has arrived! IoT is the harbinger of the 4th Industrial Revolution. IoTs are on our networks: at home, at work, and at school. They are represented by such IoT solutions as institutional heating and ventilation controls, security cameras, door locks, home thermostats and security systems, cameras, garage doors, door locks, medical and research equipment and the list goes one. Many of these systems are not secure nor did we design and build our networks with them in mind. Their presence further challenges us to secure our de-perimeterised networks. This presentation will look at the security challenges that come with IoT deployments, and how these obstacles will further change how we design, build, and deploy our services and solutions. How do we achieve the level of residual risk that we want, and how do we meet the growing list of compliance requirements that we face.
