Bruno Dal Lago, PhD, is a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. His research interests include the seismic behaviour of precast concrete structures, experimental testing and numerical modelling of mechanical connections, seismic influence of non-structural elements, innovation in dry-assembled precast structures and pre-stressing/post-tensioning in reinforced concrete and timber members.
Abstract
Basalt fibre reinforced polymer (BFRP) bars are proposed as a pre-stressed reinforcement for precast concrete elements because of their enhanced resistance to aggressive agents which makes them far more corrosion resistant... [ view full abstract ]
