Dr Sogol Fallah is currently a project engineer in Arup where she is involved in a range of projects including Marieholm tunnel, Dublin port, and M11 highway. Sogol has a PhD degree in geotechnical engineering from University College Dublin, and a MSc and BSc in Geotechnical and Civil Engineering from Sharif University, Iran. Sogol has had several occasional lecturing experience since 2014 at UCD including Soil Structure interaction for final year students and also Structural Analysis, Design and Specification for third-year students.

Abstract

The Cone Penetration Test (CPT) has been extensively used in geotechnical engineering, to evaluate the properties of wide range of soils. Numerical simulations of CPT involves large deformations in the soil domain which causes... [ view full abstract ]
