For nearly the last 5 years we have been using TurnItIn as our text matching service. The tool is very well embedded in our institution, to such an extent that TurnItIn has became part of the vocabulary of an academic. It is fair to say that it synonymous to text matching as hoover is to vacuuming. But it has come at a cost, both financially and resource wise. So five years on, we are evaluating our use of TurnItin and is it still the best option for us.  - Should we turn turnitin off? Our evaluation is based on functionality, cost, support and "matching ability"

This presentation outlines our evaluation, provides an insight into our experience and will conclude with our recommendation for our institution going forward
