The perceived workload involved in creating video content is a major barrier to lecturers getting involved in online distance learning or blended learning for their campus students. This presentation will briefly describe a number of separate solutions that have been deployed or under development in the Institute of Technology Sligo that minimise the new skills required of lecturers as well as the time required to generate content. It will describe the software and hardware being used as well as recommended workflow where technical support is required. It will cover the use of lecture capture in classrooms, as well as recording in specialised booths and self-service studios. It will also address the preferences of lecturers, showing both the use of slides and spontaneous writing using graphics screens, light-boards and even chalkboards.
