The present study demonstrates the importance to integrate work-related stress research and cross-cultural approach and focuses on work characteristics and health in workers varying in ethnicity in Southern Italy. It takes the Demands-Resources-Individual-Effects (DRIVE) model and studies conducted on ethnicity and occupational health as the frame of reference and shows the influence of job type and ethnicity in the associations between work characteristics and psychophysical health in different types of workers from Eastern Europe, Morocco, Ghana and Italy.
