The design of dementia care homes can have an impact on residents’ quality of life by supporting or hindering their ability to engage with activities of daily living (ADLs). This scoping study found that designers’ and healthcare professionals’ design priorities differed and that current definitions of ADLs may need updating to ensure that they are relevant for people with dementia.
