National Culture research has a long legacy. The research includes national culture’s influence on organizations, business development, corporate social responsibility and change. An area that has received little attention is the relationship between national culture and socially responsible investing. Socially responsible investing research has included studies to determine the profitability, risk, rewards, and stakeholder influence in relation to socially responsible investing. This research will advance the study of national culture and socially responsible investing to include national culture’s influence on socially responsible investing. The research involves Hofstede’s six national culture dimensions. The methodology for the research includes the use of the 2013 national culture survey and nine additional questions that focus on the investment habits of investors. The surveyed countries include United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Spain, Singapore, China, India, and Australia. The study also includes behavioral finance research and the cognitive psychological influences on investment decisions. The study merges behavior science and behavior finance to address the gap in current research.
