This work is meant to begin a discussion on creating an Agile and Collaborative organization in Higher Education. The old bicameral models have outlived their usefulness, and Organizational Development along with the principles of Appreciative Inquiry may hold the answers to creating a new model of Collaborative Shared Governance (CSG). This approach to leadership and governance will foster innovation and creativity while assisting these organizations in running effectively and competitively in a global higher education market. This collaborative research utilizes an auto-ethnographic review coupled with a brief literature review spanning education and organizational sources. It brings to light the organizational and cultural issues that are affecting Higher Education institutions throughout the US; issues that are creating silos, dysfunction and inefficiency. We propose a future research agenda using AI to re-frame focus on positive and possibility which will accelerate the changes needed to survive and thrive now and in the future.
