The failure of a cooperative project as is the cooperative ACOREX of Extremadura cannot be reduced to a simplistic approach based on more or less accurate perceptions about what may have happened. In the literature it is abundantly treated cases using business failure as a method of learning and improvement for the future benefit of a sector. In this case the study of the evolution of cooperative ACOREX arises from its origins and therefore the remote causes (generic) that led to the development of this cooperative project and its constraints. Remote causes among which are: the way in which the “Plan Badajoz” was implemented; the type of production structures and farmers; the form of cooperative organization that produced and that influenced the creation of a cooperative of second degree as ACOREX ....
Through the implementation of the cooperative life cycle framework, it is intended to identify those aspects that have influenced their evolution and their ways of resolution. Aspects related to both governance structure and organization and management. And they have led to a bankruptcy extreme situation, which lead to the entity to its demise.
