Cláudia Azevedo graduated in Biosciences in 2011 at Catholic University of Porto and as a final project she developed at CBQF, a system to detect vestigial concentrations of bromate in drinking water. She obtained her MSc in Molecular Oncology at ICBAS, University of Porto (2013) and her master's thesis was developed at FMUP, focusing on cancer metabolism. In 2014 Cláudia got a Research Fellowship (MSc) at ITQB in a project aiming at bioengineering exosomes to treat gliomas. At present she is pursuing her doctorate under the supervision of Professor Bruno Sarmento in functionalized nanoparticles for drug delivery at i3S.

Abstract

To maintain patient compliance, oral administration is the preferred drug delivery route. Yet, many drugs, including biopharmaceuticals do not endure the harsh environment of the gastrointestinal tract and cross epithelial... [ view full abstract ]
