This study examines the impact of fixture scheduling on demand in the Premier Division of League of Ireland soccer. We find that scheduling fixtures for days that are not a club’s customary match day reduces attendances. On the basis of our empirical findings, we suggest a number of minor modifications to scheduling design that are likely to enhance attendance.
