The reuse of treated wastewater (REUE) is One option which facilitates the use of treated municipal wastewater as a new source of supply, while reducing the evacuation of polluted effluent in receiving waters
Treated water contains nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) and trace elements (iron, copper, manganese, zinc.) Which are beneficial for crops with increased yields. On the economic front, the use of treated wastewater enables farmers to make savings on the costs of water and the fertilizer
In our study it is estimate the feasibility of the project of REUE in Algeria (in coastal region of Boumerdes) according to risk a possible accumulation of heavy metals in crops. The study of the accumulation of SEM revealed the presence of Ni, Zn, Cu, and Cr at the root of the studied plants (lentils and beans), it is the same for the aerial part (stem) it is also noted that the leaves and fruit, the presence of the ETM is undetectable in its entirety except for the zinc.
Irrigation from wastewater, will bring trace elements (zinc and copper), but and also other trace elements not vital to the plant such as Pb, Cd, Ni, cr, they continue to migrate to the aerial part or they find themselves as of traces in this part of the vegetable,
Results obtained leads to the following conclusions:
Treated wastewater can have many positive impacts including soil fertility and crop productivity on condition that they comply with any standards of WHO / FAO irrigation of crops.
Keys words : The reuse of treated wastewater , heavy metals, the vegetable, nutrients
