Effective performance measurement supports the long term viability of third sector organisations, as it provides its many stakeholders with critical information (Taylor and Taylor 2014). The literature on third sector performance measurement has identified the main drivers for measuring the performance of third sector organisations as: accountability, legitimacy and improvement of efficiency and effectiveness (Moxham 2014). However, this research shows evidence from the emerging data of a paradigm shift. Within this paradigm, performance measurement is considered part of an organisational eco-system, where culture, values, belief and vision are the dominant narratives.
