Feed or feedstock? A case study evaluating the environmental and food supply consequences of utilizing food waste as cattle feed

Nicole Tichenor

Nicole Tichenor is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of New Hampshire's Sustainability Institute. She uses multiple modeling approaches and participatory methods to inform the development of sustainable food systems. Current areas of focus include food waste as livestock feed, regional food and farming systems, and sustainable, healthy diets. Dr. Tichenor has experience in food and agricultural policy spanning the local to national levels through work at the Douglas County Food Policy Council in Kansas and the National Family Farm Coalition in Washington, D.C.  She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. from the Agriculture, Food and Environment (AFE) program at Tufts University and a B.A in Philosophy and Religious Studies at The University of Kansas.
