Mauricio Leon graduated last May from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs with a Masters degree in Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy. His research focuses on material/energy flows and greenhouse gas accounting and footprinting. He is currently working at LHB, an architecture and engineering firm in Minneapolis, MN as a Climate and Energy Specialist.

Lei Shi

Dr. SHI Lei is associate professor of the School of Environment, Tsinghua University, vice director of the State Environmental Protection Key Laboratory of Eco-industry. Dr. Shi once served as the Treasurer of the International Society for Industrial Ecology (2015-2017). Currently, he serves as the Associate Editor of Journal of Cleaner Production and Journal of Open Innovation: Technology, Market and Complexity.

Marian Chertow

Marian Chertow is a professor of industrial environmental management at theYale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. She also has facultyappointments at the Yale School of Management and the National University ofSingapore. Her research and teaching focus on industrial ecology,business/environment issues, waste management, circular economy, and urbanindustrial systems.Prior to Yale, Professor Chertow spent ten years in environmental business andstate and local government including service as president of a large statebonding authority charged with developing a billion dollar waste infrastructuresystem. Professor Chertow serves on the Board of Directors of the Alliance forResearch in Corporate Sustainability (ARCS) and on the External Advisory Boardof the Center for Energy Efficiency and Sustainability at Ingersoll Rand. Ajay Nagpure

University of Minnesota Twin Cities

Dr. Nagpure was born in Balaghat Madhya Pradesh India. He received his doctorate from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India. After serving postdoctoral associate at North Carolina State University and student contractor for US Environmental Protection Agency, he is currently working as a postdoctoral associate at the Sustainable Cities Initiative in the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, University of Minnesota. Dr. Nagpure’s research focuses on how urban infrastructure affects the local and global environment

Kangkang Tong

University for Minnesota

Kangkang Tong is a PhD student from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, University of Minnesota. Her research focuses on urban infrastructure in the US and China. Her studies aim to evaluate the carbon footprints of urban infrastructure, conduct analysis on low-carbon strategies, and also examine the public financing means to construct/maintain infrastructure in cities. The goal of her studies is to inform and examine the potential infrastructure transition pathways for future cities.
