In this Long Table discussion, Latina/o Theater scholars and scholar/practitioners will explore the conference theme of (Un)Disciplinarily with a focus on the ways that our scholarship pushes up against multiple disciplines and also challenges traditional methods of scholarship. What are the expectations of Latina/o theater makers within the academy? How has Latina/o theater been influenced by the work of scholars? What role can/should professors/scholars play in university theater productions? How are scholars pushing the boundaries of traditional scholarship via digital platforms? We will explore these questions in light of the work of the Latino Theater Commons, and its inclusion of scholars in all levels of its leadership and initiatives, as well as a focus on university and professional theater productions and festivals.
