Christina Gomez’s, “Teaching LatinX Studies: Space, Place and Privilege,” examines teaching an introduction to LatinX Studies course in three different educational spaces: an Ivy League college; a Hispanic-serving state university; and an adult male maximum security prison. She considers the affect of gender and ethnicity in teaching practices, as well as the interactions and responses from students in different spaces. Pedagogy, educational practices and the use of narratives are examined and linked to ideas of embodiment.
